#46 Self-portrait in my own Illustrative style to use on Promotional materials

This Illustration was fun. I incorporated my own style into a portrait of myself as well as meaning behind it. The lillies growing out of my palm represent my husband and daughter, to me it signifies them being a beautiful part of me. I also incorporated my motto...PeaceLoveArt into the brick wall behing me. This Illustration was done with #2 pencil, color pencils, and charcoal. I would normally choose pastels to do a drawing like this, but lack a good set! (Note: this is only a PICTURE of my illustration, will be scanning in these pieces when I have the resources)

#3 Illustrate a Song

Song: Jack Johnston "Do you Remember?" This illustration was inspired by a song from Jack Johnson. In this song, he describes a tree he loves burning down and my favorite line...."I took a picture that I don't like to look at"... I listened to the song over and over again to really understand the "theme" that I would incorporate into my illustration. I decided to do an abstract interpretation and added to the piece a little with 2 trees. The colors I chose were based on the "mellow" tunes of the song. I also tried to play with the design of the tree, making the branches resemble hearts in some areas to reflect the love story in the song. Illustration done with graphite pencils HB and 6B and colored pencils. "The Spreading Fire" 2 PROJECTS down and 99 to go.... ~PeaceLoveArt~

"This is ME world, what do YOU think of it?"

I am beginning my new journey as an artist and have set forth several goals and projects to put me on the right path. I believe one of the most important parts of becoming an artist is creating pieces and putting them out there in the world...."This is ME world, what do YOU think of it?"...

I have decided to start "101 Projects for Artists and Illustrators"(http://danidraws.com/2007/02/21/101-projects-for-artists-and-illustrators/).

I have a goal to complete EVERYTHING on this list ONE YEAR from TODAY....

I am open to critique, criticism and general communication. I also invite any other beginning artist to try this as well. My ultimate goals are: to grow as an artist, to create an AWESOME portfolio, and to put myself out there for the world (that may be too broad) to see....

~PeaceLoveArt~
